Why it exists.
The beginning
Lovable arrived in 2025 as a feminine floral-fruity from LAMAR, and on paper the brief looks uncomplicated: a fruity-floral built for the feminine market, bright top notes, white floral heart, soft musky base. The opening leans into red fruit with the kind of unselfconscious sweetness that gets edited out of more ambitious compositions. Strawberry and raspberry arrive without irony, unapologetic, the sort of syrupy-tart red fruit accord that sets the tone before anything else has a chance to settle. Then the heart arrives and you realize this composition has weight. The fragrance carries itself like something that knows exactly what genre it belongs to and refuses to apologize for any of the sweetness that comes with that territory.
What makes Lovable structurally interesting is the weight distribution across its phases. The base carries Indonesian patchouli leaf threaded alongside cedar and moss, giving the drydown a quiet earthiness that holds the strawberry and jasmine in place rather than letting them dissolve into sugar water. The Datura in the heart is the unusual ingredient, a botanical that brings a creamy, almost lactonic roundness to the white-floral phase.
The evolution
Lovable opens with a fruit-bowl declaration. Strawberry and raspberry arrive with Calabrian bergamot, orange, and tangerine, lifted by Calone into something that reads less like a bowl of fruit and more like the air around one. Pear softens the edges. The sweetness is generous, unapologetic, almost sticky for the first ten minutes, and then the white florals begin their takeover. Jasmine sambac, Chinese jasmine, orange blossom, and datura move into the space the fruit occupied, and the fragrance pivots from bright to creamy without crossing through anything thin or soapy in between. Peony bridges the two phases, its soft rosy-powdery character smoothing the transition between the sugary red-fruit opening and the denser floral heart that follows. By the two-hour mark the fragrance has settled into its drydown, and here is where the structural instincts show up.
