Why it exists.
The beginning
The Compositions Parfumées collection is Lalique's playground for ideas that don't fit elsewhere. The Hommage à l'Homme Voyageur set the aesthetic precedent with its black stopper and blurred glass, and Floral Bronze follows that lead as the collection's ode to contradiction. Not content to simply reference the weight and warmth of bronze, Karine Dubreuil-Sereni approached it as a transformation. The scent explores how delicate floral elements and metallic warmth can coexist in a single composition, creating something that feels both ephemeral and enduring. The tension between soft petals and the subtle metallic undertone gives the fragrance its distinctive character, making it feel like spring flowers learning to hold their shape against time.
The structure holds its secrets close. Bergamot opens bright and tart, while rhubarb adds a green, slightly tart edge. Bourbon geranium brings a rose-like warmth that bridges the top to the heart. Jasmine sambac anchors the middle with a rich, heady floral presence that feels tropical and enveloping. Musk and vanilla warm the composition from within while amber adds a mineral shadow.
