The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Bracelets of Kisra takes its name from a legendary Sassanian artifact, a treasure of Persian royal tradition, famed across centuries for its beauty and magnificence. The brand's own narrative traces the story further: a prophecy foretold that a desert navigator named Suraqa would one day wear these bracelets. During the era of Caliph Umar, the Persian empire was conquered, and among the treasures brought back were the legendary Bracelets of Kisra. Suraqa was called to wear them, and the prophecy was fulfilled. The fragrance translates that weight, of history, of prophecy, of empire, into scent.
The composition mirrors the story's layering. An opening that feels like unearthing something ancient, saffron's metallic brightness, lavender's aromatic depth, bergamot's citrus lift. The heart deepens into tobacco leaf, leather, and cedar, bringing richness and complexity. The drydown centers on agarwood, patchouli, and musk, smoky, earthy, animalic. This is a fragrance built to linger, the way history does.
The evolution
The saffron opening hits sharp and doesn't apologize. There's a metallic brightness that reads almost medicinal at first, the kind of opening that announces itself before asking permission. As the fragrance develops, the tobacco and leather arrive, warm and smoky, settling the composition into something rounder and more assured. The cedar adds a woody warmth underneath, pulling the heart toward that fougère territory the accords suggest. As time passes, the oud takes over. Dark, resinous, with a smoky quality that doesn't overpower but absolutely owns the room. Patchouli's earthiness grounds it. The musk keeps everything warm and close to the skin. Even hours later, you're still catching traces of it on your wrist, lingering in that way that makes you notice it again and again.
Cultural impact
Bracelets of Kisra launched in 2020 as part of the Heritage Collection. The smoky leather combination stands out as a defining element of this fragrance, praised for its richness and depth. Reviewers note its refined blending and the way it manages to feel both bold and sophisticated on the skin, creating an impression that lingers without overwhelming.
