The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Halloween launched My Wish in 2024, crafted by perfumer Delphine Lebeau-Krowiakj. The name says it all, this is a fragrance about wanting something badly enough to say it out loud. Built on the brand's long-standing belief in self-expression, My Wish translates desire into scent, capturing the excitement and anticipation of making a wish. It's the latest chapter in a Spanish house that's been about mystery and self-expression since Jesús del Pozo first brought Halloween into the world in 1997.
What makes this composition work is how it refuses to pick a lane. Fruity, floral, gourmand, earthy, most fragrances settle into one family. My Wish holds all four without letting any dominate. The salted caramel isn't decoration; it's structural. It bridges the white florals above and the moss below, creating a base that smells like something you'd actually want to eat but wears like something you'd want to live in. Patchouli keeps the sweetness honest. Moss keeps the woods from going sharp.
The evolution
The opening is the most arresting part. Blackcurrant and cherry arrive together, sharp, bright, almost jammy. Violet leaf adds a green lift that stops it from going syrupy. Within twenty minutes, gardenia takes over, pushing jasmine into a supporting role. The florals are creamy here, not indolic, gardenia in particular can tip into bathroom sanitizer territory, but here it's soft, lush, warm. The drydown is where it earns its name. Salted caramel builds slowly as the florals fade, meeting patchouli and moss. The moss note adds an earthy depth that balances the sweetness of the caramel. Patchouli anchors everything, giving the fragrance a warm, grounding finish that lingers beautifully.
Cultural impact
My Wish features prominent blackcurrant and cherry notes that give it a distinctive fruity character. The fragrance balances these fruity elements with a floral heart and a warm base, creating a layered composition that feels both sophisticated and approachable. The blackcurrant provides a tart, slightly tart brightness while the florals soften the overall effect, and the base notes ground the composition without overwhelming it. This approach to scent layering makes the fragrance feel considered rather than simple, appealing to those who appreciate nuance in their fragrances.
