Heritage
A house, in its own words
Jesús del Pozo launched the Halloween fragrance line in 1997, marking his entry into the world of perfumery from his base in Spain. As a fashion designer already established in the industry, del Pozo approached fragrance creation as an extension of his artistic universe. The debut scent, HALLOWEEN Eau de Toilette, introduced a floral-watery composition crafted by perfumer Max Gavarry, featuring violet, lime, lily of the valley, vanilla, and marine notes alongside more unexpected ingredients like banana leaf, magnolia, tuberose, incense, myrrh, pink pepper, and sandalwood. The fragrance positioned itself as capturing the seduction and mystery of festive nights, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of Halloween itself. Following del Pozo's passing in 2011, the brand continued operating under Perfumes y Diseño, carrying forward his creative vision. In 2012, Halloween expanded into the men's market with HALLOWEEN Man, later adding variants including HALLOWEEN Man Rock On and the notable HALLOWEEN MAN X in 2019. The label has maintained its identity as a distinctly Spanish fragrance brand while building international recognition.
The Halloween brand operates on a philosophy rooted in personal expression and embracing one's unique qualities. Their 'Believe in Your Magic' messaging frames fragrance as a tool for self-discovery and confidence rather than mere cosmetic application. The brand explicitly describes itself as a community of individuals who let themselves be carried away by passion and possibility. This community-driven approach sets Halloween apart from houses that emphasize heritage or artisanal tradition. Instead, the label cultivates an identity around mystery, fun, and the transformative power of scent. Their framing of fragrance as 'potion' and 'secret' speaks to a worldview that treats perfume as magical rather than purely aesthetic. The brand's Spanish roots inform a certain warmth and playfulness in their communication, avoiding the austere positioning common among heritage French houses. Rather than adhering to classical perfumery conventions, Halloween embraces a more inclusive, accessible vision where the wearer becomes the protagonist of their own narrative.
