The beginning
Green Ice is a 2026 release from Devertere, a house whose compositions are built around the idea that each fragrance can hold a story in liquid form. Perfumer Sofia Bardelli shaped Green Ice around a single idea: contrast. Coolness set against warmth, clarity set against depth. The composition draws its character from aromatics, working within the extraits de parfum framework that allows the materials to sit close to the skin and unfold slowly. Juniper, ginger, grapefruit, and an ice accord construct a sharp, bracing surface. Sandalwood, rhubarb, and vetiver build something greener and more grounded underneath. The tension between those two layers is the fragrance, and what gives it its particular rhythm from the first spray to the last trace on skin.
An ice accord paired with materials rooted in natural resins and spices is an unusual construction, and that contrast is where the character lives. Juniper opens with a cool bitterness sharpened by grapefruit into something vivid and bracing. Pink pepper contributes a clean, dry warmth that keeps the opening from collapsing into simple citrus. On application, the elemi resin and pink pepper crack open like a struck match over a slab of ice, sharp and resinous. The grapefruit and mandarin surge forward next, brightened by ginger and juniper, while a glacial accord pulls the temperature down. As it dries down, citron, pear, rhubarb, and sandalwood emerge in a cool, green-aromatic phase that lingers for hours. Finally, amber, vetiver, musk, and cedarwood settle into a quiet, woody warmth that anchors the freshness until the skin returns to neutral.

Green Ice sits among Devertere's recent releases, a set that includes The Way You Kiss Me and Just for One Day alongside it. The extrait concentration gives it a weight and skin-adherence that sets it apart from lighter fresh fragrances.
