The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
BORNTOSTANDOUT built their reputation on refusing to play it safe. Every bottle carries a name designed to start a conversation or end one. Indecent Cherry, launched in 2022 under perfumer Florian Gallo, takes its concept from the moment innocence shows its wild side. Not darkness for shock value. Not sweetness for comfort. The point where one becomes the other, and neither apologizes for it.
Cherry as a note walks a fine line. Done cautiously, it smells medicinal or fades into air freshener territory. Done with intent, it becomes something else entirely, a fruit that knows exactly what it's doing. The combination of almond and saffron here isn't accidental. They're the architects of the fragrance's refusal to be behaved. The Bulgarian rose in the heart doesn't soften the cherry; it complicates it, adds a complexity that keeps the sweetness from reading as simple.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and immediate, wild cherry that announces itself without hesitation, saffron lending a warmth that stops it from being merely sweet. Within minutes, the almond emerges, turning the sweetness nuttier, more textured. The strawberry appears as the heart develops, but it's not the candy-bright strawberry of a summer fragrance, it's rounder, softer, as if the fruit has been macerated. Bulgarian rose arrives last in the heart sequence, a floral note that grounds the sweetness in something with weight. By hour two, the base takes over: Indonesian patchouli and benzoin creating depth, vanilla and amber wrapping everything in warmth that lingers close to the skin for the remaining hours, no projection that clears a room, but presence that draws people in when they get close enough to notice.
Cultural impact
Indecent Cherry became the house's signature almost immediately after its 2022 debut. Among Korean niche fragrance releases, it stands out for its willingness to commit fully to sweetness without irony. The global niche market has seen countless cherry interpretations; this one carved its space by refusing to apologize for what it is.
