A house, in its own words
Jun Lim spent years as a banker in Seoul, amassing a collection of fragrances and a deep frustration with what the industry offered. In April 2022, he launched BornToStandOut, building the house he always wished existed. Working with an international roster of perfumers including Olivier Cresp, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, and Florian Gallo, the brand released its first collection with an unapologetically provocative stance. By 2023, the house had expanded into major markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, reaching over 60 countries. Each year since launch has brought new浓度 expressions, from EdPs to ultra-concentrated Extraits, cementing the brand's reputation for bold naming and fearless composition. BornToStandOut creates perfume for outsiders. The brand rejects the idea that fragrance should be polite or universally pleasing. Instead, it builds scents around radical concepts: excess, contradiction, seduction, and defiance. Names like NSFW, Filthy Musk, and Drunk Lovers signal a house that prioritizes emotional truth over commercial safety. Jun Lim has described wanting wearers to feel more like themselves, not less. This manifests in compositions that are intentionally provocative, long-lasting, and unapologetically distinctive. The house positions scent as self-expression, not decoration.
