The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ariana Grande's fragrance line includes scents named after some of her most recognizable songs, God Is A Woman, Thank U Next, R.E.M., each one drawn from her music and persona. In 2025, she turned to Glinda. The good witch. The one who arrives in a bubble and refuses to stop smiling. The Wicked For Good launch brought two fragrances to the collection. Glinda Bubbly Pink and Elphaba Enchanted. Bright and dark, pink and green, charm and rebellion. Perfumer Natasha Côté-Mouzannar created a floral, fruity, and unapologetically feminine composition. The result feels theatrical in its optimism, light in its sweetness, and determined in its cheer.
The top notes do something interesting: nectarine and red apple arrive together and linger together. In this fragrance, both notes maintain their presence longer than might be expected, stretching into the drydown rather than fading early. The heart, peony and tulip, keeps things delicate. Peony brings its powdery, rose-adjacent elegance. Tulip adds a crispness that feels almost stem-fresh, like cutting flowers at the source. The combination stays light and clean, avoiding heaviness.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes announce themselves with zero hesitation. Nectarine and red apple arrive crisp and immediate, almost effervescent. The pink pepper adds a subtle sparkle, not heat, just lift. It keeps the opening from feeling heavy, even as the sweetness establishes itself. Around 15 to 45 minutes, the florals take over. Peony and tulip arrive in sequence, delicate and clean. This phase carries a bright, fresh quality that feels wholesome and clean. After an hour, the base arrives. Sugared musks wrap around cedarwood and sandalwood, turning the brightness into warmth. The woods here are soft, not dark. Blond and creamy. The sugar does not disappear, it deepens slightly, becoming the kind of sweetness that feels worn rather than applied. The sillage stays moderate throughout the wear. Close to the skin, present without being overwhelming.
Cultural impact
Wicked For Good launched alongside the Wicked revival, with Ariana Grande appearing in the film as Elphaba. Glinda Bubbly Pink exists within that context. For fans of the musical, the fragrance offers a wearable interpretation of Glinda's optimism. For fragrance newcomers, the fruity-floral character makes it an accessible entry point. The composition leans into sweetness and brightness, creating a scent that feels youthful in its cheerful energy.
