Evoke Red Her is part of Ajmal's Evoke Red Edition, a line designed to capture the brand's signature warmth through a modern, feminine lens. Composed by Élodie Bernard and released in 2026, it represents a meeting point between Ajmal's Arabian heritage and contemporary gourmand perfumery. Bernard built this composition around an unlikely anchor: popcorn. The note is playful on paper but reads as toasted caramel warmth on skin, the kind of sweetness that feels more like a memory than a confection. Sprayed on, it opens with a soft whisper of orris and lavender, powdery and slightly cool, before the popcorn blooms into something richer and more golden than you'd expect.
Her leans into gourmand territory harder than most fragrances in the Evoke Red Edition. Popcorn and praline create a dual sweetness, one toasted and airy, the other dense and nutty. Macadamia smooths the edges while magnolia keeps the heart from collapsing into pure dessert. Orris and lavender in the opening introduce a powdery counterweight that prevents the sweetness from tipping into juvenile territory. As the hours pass, the lavender fades first, leaving orris to anchor the heart with its soft, rooty iris character.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes feel almost savory. Lavender lifts the top while pink pepper adds a clean bite, and the popcorn sits underneath like butter warming in a pan. By the thirty-minute mark, orris has settled in, softening everything into a powdery haze. The heart opens with praline and macadamia, and the composition gets warmer, denser, almost edible. Magnolia threads through to keep the florals honest. Two hours in, the base takes over: benzoin, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, and musk collapse into a creamy amber warmth. The drydown lasts well into the evening. On fabric the next morning, it's all vanilla and tonka, barely-there but still present.
