    Elodie Bernard

Élodie Bernard grew up in Troyes, where the scent of fresh pastries and old stone sparked a lifelong curiosity about aroma. She pursued chemistry at university, then refined her craft at ISIPCA, France’s premier perfume school. Early internships placed her in bustling labs, where she translated molecular formulas into scent stories. After graduation, she joined Expressions Parfumées, a boutique house that champions experimental composition. In 2022 she co‑created the luminous “Zenith Echoes,” a collaboration that announced her arrival on the international stage. The following year she crafted “Cavatina” for Sospiro, a fragrance that earned praise for its elegant balance of citrus and amber. Recent work includes a fresh, character‑driven scent for Solinotes, underscoring her reputation for marrying simplicity with depth. With seventeen creations catalogued, Bernard continues to shape modern perfumery while mentoring emerging noses at her studio.

    The signature

    How Elodie composes

Bernard favors a clean, linear structure that lets each ingredient speak. She often begins with a crisp citrus or aromatic herb, then layers a heart of florals or spices that add texture. Base notes typically include sustainably sourced woods, soft resins, or gentle musks, providing a quiet anchor. She enjoys experimenting with rare absolutes, such as Tunisian orange blossom or Madagascan vanilla, but always balances them with more accessible materials to keep the fragrance wearable. In the lab she prefers precise measurements, yet she allows room for spontaneous adjustments, trusting her nose to catch the moment when a composition clicks. Her signatures include bright openings, nuanced middles, and a restrained, lingering finish.

    Philosophy

    What drives Elodie

Bernard treats each formula as a conversation between memory and material. She believes scent should evoke a clear image without overwhelming the wearer, a principle that guides every selection she makes. Her chemistry background fuels a scientific curiosity, yet she trusts intuition to steer the final blend. She pursues balance: bright top notes give way to heart accords that linger, while base elements provide quiet resolve. For Bernard, perfume is a personal signature, a way to mark moments with subtle, lasting impression. She credits travel, literature, and everyday encounters as endless sources of inspiration, and she strives to translate those experiences into scents that feel both familiar and new.
