Why it exists.
The beginning
Yllozuria arrived in 2008 as the third and final fragrance from Yllozure. The azure-blue bottle holds a composition that leans into white floral opulence, sweetened with fruity-floral notes and wrapped in vanilla warmth. Violet and honey appear in the note pyramid alongside the florals, while the blueberry note brings brightness to the heart. The house released three perfumes, created exactly what they wanted to make, and let the work stand on its own terms.
The note structure here is interesting precisely because it refuses to choose between freshness and warmth. Peony and melon open things with bright, almost aquatic sweetness, then lily of the valley introduces a cool, green quietness. The heart trades that restraint for intensity: blueberry and jasmine together create a fruity-floral that's bright and almost intoxicating, but the jasmine keeps it grounded in something more serious. Violet and honey add sweetness alongside the florals.
The evolution
The opening announces itself with peony arriving bright and unapologetic, melon lending a watery sweetness that makes the whole thing feel like the inside of a greenhouse at midday. The lily of the valley doesn't compete, it softens the edges. The bergamot recedes and the blueberry takes over, turning the composition into something more sensual, more intimate. Jasmine builds slowly underneath. The base notes begin their slow reveal: vanilla first, warm and slightly sweet, then sandalwood adding creaminess, cedar providing structure, and patchouli giving the whole thing an earthy counterweight. What settles on skin is powdery, close, and present through a full workday.
