The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Luxe In Summer is part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, a 2026 release composed by Mahsam Raza. It draws from the same analytical approach the house built its reputation on: studying a target scent profile and reconstructing it with accessible ingredients, then letting the formula stand on its own terms rather than as a strict copy. This one leans aromatic-woody, built around clary sage and petitgrain rather than the aquatic or fruity routes most summer compositions take. The intent reads as straightforward. A green, slightly herbal opening, a luminous floral heart, a musky base with enough vetiver to keep it grounded. No reinvention of the wheel. Just a clean execution of a structure that works well in warm weather.
What sets this composition apart is the weight distribution. Luxe In Summer balances differently. The clary sage and petitgrain carry a green bitterness that survives the first hour, giving the jasmine sambac and rose oil something to push against instead of floating above. The base keeps vetiver instead of leaning entirely on white musk, which adds an earthy anchor that prevents the whole thing from dissolving into air. The vetiver here reads more root than smoke, a cool mineral quality that steadies the warmer florals above it.
The evolution
On skin, the opening arrives green and slightly bitter, clary sage leading with petitgrain close behind. The Italian citrus adds brightness but doesn't shout, more like light through linen than a glass of juice. Within the first stretch of wear, the herbs soften. Jasmine sambac starts to bloom, and rose oil rounds the edges, turning the composition from aromatic to something warmer and more intimate. The spicy notes in the heart register as warmth rather than heat, a gentle nudge toward the base rather than a peppery interruption. As the formula settles, Ambrofix takes over the projection. It carries a clean, slightly salty amber quality that reads as skin-warm even on fabric. Vetiver grounds the final stretch, giving the musk something textured to lean against. Over time, what's left is a close-skin blend of musk, vetiver, and faint jasmine. Soft, present, not demanding attention.
Cultural impact
Luxe In Summer enters a crowded field of warm-weather releases, but its position is specific. This composition appeals to wearers who care about architecture: how the notes are layered, how the top connects to the base, how the formula behaves when the temperature climbs. The green-aromatic opening sets it apart from the citrus-heavy launches that flood the summer market, and the vetiver-grounded base gives it staying power that lighter compositions often lack. It wears well in the heat without dissolving, holding its shape from the first spray through the later hours.
