The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Tada Archawong developed Lushwind in 2024 as a personal project that evolved into a full release through Tada Parfumeur, a Thai fragrance house that prioritizes locally-sourced materials and artisanal production methods. The perfumer's background in Thai botanical extraction influenced the fragrance's distinctive character, particularly the use of carrot seed oil sourced from local suppliers. Archawong has cited the lush northern Thai forests as the primary inspiration, seeking to capture the sensation of standing in dense vegetation after rainfall. The house operates from Chiang Mai, where the perfumer experiments with both traditional Thai aromatic materials and more unexpected Western ingredients. Lushwind represents the brand's attempt to bridge these two olfactory worlds.
The name Lushwind itself suggests movement and abundance, evoking the way scents travel through dense vegetation. Archawong chose the name to honor the Thai concept of forest spirits, invisible presences felt rather than seen. The fragrance aims to recreate this sensation of being surrounded by something alive and abundant. Limited production runs ensure attention to detail in the blending process, with small batches allowing for adjustments based on seasonal variations in raw material quality.
The evolution
The fragrance opens with a vibrant, almost startling brightness as pineapple and green notes collide on the skin. Bergamot appears briefly, lending fleeting citrus clarity before the pineapple becomes more pronounced, taking on a candied quality that feels simultaneously playful and sophisticated. The pine note lingers underneath, preventing the opening from becoming too sweet. Within minutes, the heart emerges: lavender arrives with quiet authority, its herbaceous qualities softened by geranium's gentle floral inflection. Carrot seed surfaces next, adding an unexpected earthiness that grounds the aromatic heart. This is where Lushwind reveals its character as something more than a pleasant fresh fragrance. As hours pass, the composition transforms. The herbal notes fade, leaving space for patchouli's rich, slightly bitter earthiness to dominate. Amber provides subtle warmth underneath, while coumarin adds a faint sweetness reminiscent of tobacco or dried grass. Oakmoss completes the transformation, lending a mossy, nostalgic quality that feels like wandering through an old-growth forest at dusk. The evolution from bright tropical opening to deep earthy drydown represents a complete aromatic journey, each phase distinct yet connected to the next.
Cultural impact
Since its limited 30‑bottle release, Lushwind has become a quiet favorite among collectors who prize Tada Parfumeur’s narrative approach. Boutique retailers note its frequent appearance in spring‑time recommendations, and wearers often cite its fresh green‑pine character as a modern nod to Thailand’s monsoon‑kissed mornings.
