The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Holiday Edition arrived in 2019 as a collector's bottle, a moment captured, not just a fragrance restocked. Perfumers Sophie Labbe and Juliette Karagueuzoglou built on the original Signorina's framework but sharpened it for the season. Red currant replaced anything expected. Panna cotta anchored the base where vanilla might have been too predictable. The result is a composition that wears its sweetness deliberately, like a gift wrapped with precision, not excess. This wasn't a reimagining. It was a refinement for people who already knew Signorina and wanted something to mark the year.
What makes this edition work is the tension between the sharp opening and the soft landing. Pink pepper is often used as a bridge, but here it opens alone alongside red currant, a fruity-sparkle pairing that announces the fragrance before the florals arrive. The heart of Rose, Peony, and Jasmine could have become a cliché, but the panna cotta in the base reframes them. They're not the main event, they're the warmth that holds everything together. Patchouli and Musk keep it grounded without going dark. It's a floral-gourmand that doesn't tip into dessert territory.
The evolution
Pink pepper hits first. Bright, almost fizzy. Then red currant slides in, tart and immediate. You get maybe ninety seconds of this sharpness before the florals take over, and the transition is surprisingly smooth. Rose and Peony arrive together, with Jasmine underneath, and suddenly the whole thing softens into something you want to lean into. The drydown is where Panna Cotta earns its place. It doesn't hit you immediately, it's a slow reveal over the first hour, mixing with Musk and Patchouli into a cream that stays close to the skin. Lasts well into the evening on most skin types.
Cultural impact
Signorina has been a steady presence in the Ferragamo fragrance line since the original's debut. The Holiday Editions have developed a collector following, bottles that mark a specific year, appealing to those who want a fragrance with a narrower moment attached to it. This 2019 edition sits in the brand's broader Signorina family, which includes Signorina Misteriosa and Signorina Ribelle, each with their own variation on the floral-gourmand theme.
