The beginning
Final Touch arrived in 2022 from Piotr Czarnecki, a perfumer whose work is defined by controlled contrast. The composition opens with a bright citrus-floral entrance that pivots into turmeric warmth and finishes somewhere considerably darker. Neroli, bergamot, and jasmine lift the top with radiance, while a base of oud, cognac, white musk, and civet pulls the composition into shadow. The tension between these poles gives Final Touch its charge. Each phase replaces the last with intent. Nothing sits still. The neroli arrives luminous and green, the bergamot sharpens it with a clean spark, and the jasmine softens the corners with an indolic sweetness that hints at what's coming. As the florals settle, turmeric emerges with a dry, golden heat that warms the composition from within.
The unusual choice here is civet in a composition that opens with neroli. The pairing feels almost confrontational, placing something primal beneath a surface of brightness.
