Piotr Czarnecki
Piotr Czarnecki did not arrive at perfumery through the usual routes. A professional ballroom dancer and instructor in his native Poland, he spent years composing fragrances as a private obsession before deciding to share his vision with the world. In 2014, he founded his eponymous Polish niche house, driven by the conviction that scent and movement share a common language. His work caught the attention of the international fragrance community when he reached the finals of the Art & Olfaction Awards, a recognition that placed his name alongside more formally trained noses. Czarnecki approaches scent as a self-taught craftsman who learned through experimentation, intuition, and an acute sensitivity to how materials unfold over time. He also serves as artistic director at SCENT of DANCE in Radom, a role that bridges his two artistic passions and reinforces his belief that fragrance, like dance, is ultimately about human expression.

How Piotr composes
Czarnecki's signature leans toward bold, theatrical constructions with unexpected turns. His fragrances are known for richness and complexity, often layering contrasting elements that create tension and release. He gravitates toward warm, resinous bases, sometimes introducing dark, smoky, or animalic facets that lend his work an edgy, unconventional quality. He works extensively with boozy rum notes and creates fragrances that span gender boundaries, challenging traditional categorization. His compositions tend to unfold dramatically over time, rewarding patience and attention.
Philosophy
What drives Piotr
For Czarnecki, perfumery is inseparable from bodily expression. His background in dance informs how he thinks about fragrance, treating each composition as a kind of choreography where materials enter, develop, and exit in deliberate sequence. He creates primarily for himself, wearing his own compositions before offering them to others, which grounds his work in genuine personal need rather than market calculation. This instinct-first approach gives his fragrances an authenticity that more commercial houses struggle to replicate.
