The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Night Scent is a women's composition from the house of Pascal Morabito. The scent itself plays on a layered structure: bright, fruity lift on top, warm floral-gourmand depth beneath. It's built for the moment after dusk, when daylight fragrances start to feel too obvious. On skin, the opening reads as a burst of cool fruit, with blackcurrant and raspberry giving the first impression its lifted, slightly sharp sweetness. Pear and violet leaf come through almost immediately after, softening the fruit and pushing a green, watery edge into the blend so it never tips into syrup. The top notes move quickly, and what arrives underneath is a quieter middle act of rose, freesia, and a thread of jasmine that lifts the whole composition without weighing it down.
The composition leans into a classic feminine architecture: a tart-sweet fruit opening, a white-floral heart, a creamy base. What gives it character is the ratio. Blackcurrant and raspberry arrive together rather than alternating, which creates a sharper, almost candy-like initial brightness instead of a muted, jammy sweetness. The heart keeps the rose dominant with freesia cutting the edges clean, while patchouli hides in the lower register, adding a soft earthiness that keeps the florals from floating off. Sandalwood and vanilla in the base do the heavy emotional work, turning the composition from pretty to lived-in.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes are pure fruit: blackcurrant first, green and almost mentholated, then raspberry rolling in underneath, sweet and slightly syrupy. Violet leaf gives the opening a cool, slightly metallic edge, a green that cuts against the syrup and keeps the fruit reading fresh. Around the 30-minute mark the roses arrive, Damask-heavy, a little soapy, and the freesia shows up right behind them, adding a clean, peppery white-floral lift. The patchouli here is quiet, more shadow than statement, the kind that grounds without announcing itself. By the 2-hour mark the florals have melted into the base: sandalwood comes forward warm and creamy, vanilla sweetens the whole structure, and a soft jasmine threads through underneath. White musk and musk settle in for the long haul, creating that powdery, skin-close drydown.
Cultural impact
Night Scent sits in the quieter corner of the Pascal Morabito line, the kind of composition that appeals to someone who already knows the house and wants something softer for evening rotation. The fruity-floral structure places it close to other mainstream feminine releases, with enough rose and patchouli depth to carry weight. Wearers tend to describe it as a reliable crowd-pleaser, the one that gets worn when nothing louder is called for. The opening fruit is what draws people in, but the rose-and-patchouli heart is what keeps them coming back, giving the scent a maturity that balances the sweetness on top.
