The name gestures at exaltation through musk, but the composition goes broader, weaving green and mossy structures with contemporary fruit and softening the whole thing with vanilla. The violet leaf opens with a cool, almost metallic clarity, green in a way that recalls crushed stems rather than leaves left to wilt. Blackcurrant buds rather than ripe pulp lend a tart, almost bracing sweetness that keeps the green from feeling austere.
The chypre structure holds throughout Exaltant Le Musc, green opening, mossy base, animalic warmth, but loads it with blackcurrant and blueberry that feel distinctly twenty-first century. The result is a fragrance that wears its classic bones without apology.
