Sagittarius enters Outis's Guardian Star Series as an astrological portrait, a constellation rendered in scent by perfumer Wei Bai. The series maps zodiac archetypes through fragrance, and Sagittarius draws the sign known for restlessness, expansion, and a restless hunger for what's beyond the horizon. Wei Bai composed it to carry that duality: bright enough to move, grounded enough to settle. The composition opens with saffron, geranium, and bergamot on top, but routes everything through a heavier, oud-supported heart that grounds the airiness. This is not a fiery or flamboyant sign reading. Sagittarius here reads seasoned, like someone who has logged enough miles to stop performing the journey.
The structural move worth noticing is how the bright opening doesn't collapse into the leather-oud heart so much as get slowly absorbed by it. Bergamot and geranium lend a green-floral lift that saffron stitches together with its dry, almost metallic warmth. Then the transition: cardamom opens a spicy aromatic corridor right as leather and oud take the floor. In the base, musk and patchouli do the earthy work while vetiver cuts through with a cool, slightly bitter edge.
