The house, rooted in New York's affordable-luxury niche, wanted a scent that felt opulent and deep, echoing the richness of gold-colored resin and the warmth of precious spices. The perfumer chose to build around oud as the anchor but balanced it with approachable florals and sweet resins, creating a fragrance that honors oud's complexity without intimidating newcomers.
The note selection reflects a philosophy of contrast and balance. The opening spices, while warm, stay bright thanks to cardamom's citrusy edge. Rose bridges the gap between spice and wood, its softness tempering the assertiveness of clove and saffron.
