Jorge Lee crafted this composition for Nishane, building it around the collision of yuzu citrus with cumin's earthy depth. The idea was simple: take the freshness of a Japanese market and bury it inside something that smells like it came from a Turkish souk. Spice Bazaar exists at that intersection, unlikely, specific, and impossible to mistake for anything else.
The most interesting thing about Spice Bazaar's structure is how it inverts the expected arc of a spicy fragrance. Instead of opening warm and cooling down, it starts bright and sharp with yuzu, a Japanese citrus that reads almost electric against the ginger, then arrives at a cumin heart that changes everything. That savory, slightly animalic depth in the middle transforms the composition from an aromatic fragrance into something warmer, stranger, and more memorable.
The evolution
