The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Alluring Sandal arrived in 2022 from My Perfumes. No perfumer credit has been published for this release, so the intent has to be read straight from the formula: peach, pink peppercorn, and strawberry on top, jasmine and cedarwood through the middle, and a base built on sandalwood, musk, and tonka bean. The official description calls it an irresistible mix of luscious fruit and floral fragrance, and that's exactly the register it occupies. Fruity enough to catch attention early, grounded enough in sandalwood to stay composed once the fruit fades. On skin, the opening reads sweet and rounded rather than sharp, with the peach giving a soft, ripe warmth that the pink peppercorn lightly pricks.
What makes this composition worth a second look is the handoff between fruit and wood. Peach and strawberry bring the sweetness, but pink peppercorn keeps it from tipping into syrup. Then cedarwood and ambroxan give the middle a structural spine, and jasmine adds a clean floral brightness rather than a heavy floral weight. Sandalwood in the base does the real work, turning a cheerful fruit accord into something that reads as skin-close and confident. Tonka bean and musk then round the edges with a soft, vanilla-adjacent warmth that lingers without shouting.
The evolution
The opening is the loud part. Peach and strawberry arrive ripe and sweet, cut by pink peppercorn's bright, almost fizzy edge, and for the first minutes the fragrance reads like fruit served cold on a warm afternoon. That sweetness doesn't disappear so much as get absorbed. Jasmine lifts it, cedarwood gives it grain and dryness, and ambroxan adds a smooth, mineral warmth that pulls everything closer to the skin. By the middle hour the bright fruit has mellowed into something rounder and more golden. Then sandalwood takes over the base, creamy and woody, with tonka bean adding a soft, sweet-amber haze and musk settling everything down. What lingers is the warm sandalwood and musk combination, faint and close to the skin, like the memory of a scent rather than the scent itself.
Cultural impact
Alluring Sandal fits within a well-known family of soft oriental floral scents, the sort built around creamy sandalwood and a generous musk base. Its distinguishing detail is the fruit that comes first: peach, pink peppercorn, and strawberry laid over jasmine and cedarwood, with tonka bean adding warmth underneath. That opening gives the composition a sweetness that reads familiar and easy to pick up, while the sandalwood and musk keep the scent from feeling thin or purely gourmand. As the fruit fades, jasmine carries the middle, lending a clean floral lift against the dry edge of cedarwood.
