The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Seduisant dropped in 2022 from Malanotte, a composition that takes the promise seriously. The brand's own copy calls it the elixir of seduction, the perfume of someone you can't stop thinking about, and the bottle doesn't argue. Each Malanotte release, according to the house, is composed with unusual and refined essences, extremely concentrated, long lasting and surprising. Seduisant is the one that leans hardest into the romance register, a rose-dominant composition with violet and iris giving it that powdery softness, spices warming the core. The opening hits with rose absolute front and center, blackcurrant lifting it with a tart, almost wine-like brightness that keeps the floral from collapsing into pure sweetness.
What's worth noting here is the tension in the pyramid itself. Rose absolute carries a dense, almost candied richness that defines the opening. Blackcurrant sits next to it, fruity and tart, lifting the rose instead of drowning it. Then the heart loads up: iris for that powdered suede feel, violet leaning toward candy sweetness, tuberose bringing creamy white floral weight. Guatemala cardamom and Ceylon cinnamon add warmth without tipping into outright sweetness. Pink pepper snaps.
The evolution
The opening belongs to the rose and blackcurrant, bright and almost wine-like, the fruit giving the rose a lifted, sparkling edge instead of the usual jammy sweetness. Rose absolute has a density that reads as almost candied at the top, and the citruses add a brief flicker of brightness before fading into the composition's core. The heart arrives with iris first, that cool powdered suede quality, then violet layers in with a sweeter, almost candy-dust softness. Tuberose blooms underneath, creamy and narcotic, while pink pepper and cardamom push warmth from below. Geranium keeps the whole thing from going too sweet, a green edge that says this isn't a dessert course. As the hours pass, the base settles in for the long haul. Patchouli anchors everything with earthy depth, almost musty in the way good patchouli tends to be.
Cultural impact
Seduisant reads as rose-forward and powdery, but grounded by real patchouli weight rather than the usual vanilla softening that defines so many modern rose fragrances. At least one wearer has compared it to Diptyque's 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, sharing that same dusty-iris-meets-rose register, a connection worth noting for anyone familiar with that reference point. The composition works for someone who wants the romance of a floral without the sweetness that usually comes with it. The kind of scent that reads as deliberate rather than decorative, built around material density instead of crowd-pleasing softness.
