The beginning
Vibes Men Parfum arrived in 2024 from Louis Varel, a label whose Paris roots show in the polished restraint of its output. The brand has built a catalog around accessible compositions that put everyday wearability at their core, and Vibes continues that thread with confidence. The brief from the perfumer, Emna Doghri, was to construct a men's aromatic fougere that could hold its shape across a full day without demanding attention. She built the scent around a generous fruit-driven opening, a structured herbal-patchouli center, and an amber base that holds steady rather than fading into the background. The fruit top is unusually prominent for the category, juicy and rounded, with bergamot and mandarin lifting the sweeter notes into something more crystalline.
What makes the structure interesting is the scale of the fruit accord at the top. Apple and pineapple lead the way, joined by grapefruit, bergamot, and ginger, an unusually lush combination for a format usually anchored in lavender, citrus, and oakmoss. The citrus notes sharpen the sweetness while the ginger adds a warm, peppery edge that keeps the opening from reading as simple. The heart then pulls everything back toward convention with geranium, patchouli, and vetiver, giving the composition its masculine spine.
