The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Les Soeurs de Noe was founded on the premise that scent can capture a feeling and keep it tangible. The house designs its fragrances around personal memory, each bottle an invitation to pause, to recall. The concept for Pear Addiction grew from an image of abundance without apology, where picking more than planned feels natural rather than excessive. The fragrance architecture centers on this sense of generous plenty. The structure prioritizes pear as the leading note, supported by apple which adds body and roundness. Lychee introduces a tropical brightness that prevents the sweetness from becoming singular or flat. Below these, jasmine and violet provide a quiet complexity that keeps the fruit from announcing itself too loudly.
The structure follows three top notes, two heart notes, and three base notes. No trick accord, no proprietary blend requires explanation. This simplicity is the point. Pear Addiction strips back to something pure: fruit that embraces its sweetness without hesitation, floral elements that maintain a soft presence, and wood that grounds everything with honesty. The pink musk in the base deserves attention. It carries no animalic quality, nothing aggressive.
The evolution
The opening arrives without ceremony. Pear and apple appear together, immediate and present. There is a coolness to this introduction that feels refreshing, almost like morning air on skin, which distinguishes it from many other fruity fragrances. Lychee adds a tropical shimmer that makes the sweetness feel deliberate rather than accidental. The top notes carry a crispness that lingers in an almost green direction, suggesting freshness without any stem or leaf note actually being present. As the fragrance develops, the heart notes begin to arrive. Jasmine and violet do not replace the top notes, they infiltrate them, creating a transparency that feels clean and clear. Violet contributes a powdery quality that finds unexpected support from the fruit sweetness beneath it, shifting the fragrance's character gently from its opening.
Cultural impact
Pear Addiction presents itself with confidence, unapologetically fruity in a category where sweetness often gets tempered or apologized for. It offers pure, undiluted fruit with a floral backbone that provides structure without competing for attention. The composition asks you to lean in and pay attention rather than simply register presence from across a room. Not revolutionary in concept, but executed with clarity about what it wants to be and who it is for.
