The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ejaazi arrived in 2018 as Lattafa's answer to a specific demand: woody aromatic depth at a price that didn't require compromise. The name means extraordinary in Arabic. The intent was clearer. Build a fragrance accessible enough for first-time buyers and interesting enough for those who know what they're looking for. Marine and bergamot would do the opening work, making that first impression immediate and inviting. Sandalwood and vetiver would carry the heart, adding warmth and earthiness that kept the freshness from feeling thin. This was architecture, not accident.
The choice of sandalwood and vetiver together is worth noting. Both are woody materials, but they bring different textures. Sandalwood is creamy, almost sweet in its warmth. Vetiver is mineral and dry, with a root-earth character that grounds everything it touches. Placing them in the heart of a fragrance that's supposed to be fresh and accessible sounds contradictory. But it's precisely that tension that makes Ejaazi work. The freshness opens the door. The woods keep you in the room.
The evolution
The opening hits with marine and bergamot, a wave of cool air that feels immediate. Thirty seconds in, the citrus sharpens. A minute more, and the woods arrive. Vetiver's mineral quality takes over first, pushing the freshness toward something earthier, more grounded. Sandalwood follows, softening the edges. Where most fresh fragrances lose their identity within an hour, Ejaazi holds. The heart lasts through hour three, the woody warmth becoming the dominant impression. Then amber begins to show itself, a warmth that sneaks in beneath the vetiver. By hour five, the base takes over. Musk and cedarwood wrap the drydown into something skin-close and persistent. On clothing, the amber and musk linger for another day. Not projecting. Not screaming. Just there, quietly, refusing to leave.
Cultural impact
Ejaazi sits in the conversation around accessible blue fragrances that perform well beyond their price point. Wearers describe it as the kind of scent that works for someone new to fragrance and equally for someone looking for an everyday workhorse. The woody aromatic character gives it more personality than the typical aquatic, while the price makes experimentation risk-free.
