The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Eden Juicy Apple | 01 launched in 2021, created by perfumer Clement Gavarry for Kayali. The inspiration came from the orchard at the beginning of time, reimagined through a modern, personal lens. Rather than the woods and musks typical of the Kayali range, this scent embraces a crisp, sweet vision of the forbidden fruit, exploring desire, temptation, and personal expression through juice and sweetness rather than mystery and depth.
This specific combination prioritizes sweet, bright fruit over deep florals or complex woods, making it approachable for fragrance newcomers while remaining interesting enough for enthusiasts. The sugar and musk base keeps the scent Intimate and comfortable rather than projecting loudly, while the pink grapefruit and blackcurrant provide enough tartness to prevent cloying sweetness. Moss grounds the composition with subtle earthiness that balances the sweetness rather than fighting it. The result feels flirtatious and fun rather than serious or complex, designed for wearing alone or layering with deeper, more serious fragrances to customize your personal scent story.
The evolution
The opening reveals an edible red apple note that hits immediately, balanced by tropical litchi and brightened by blackcurrant. Pink grapefruit extends the citrus quality without adding heaviness. As the top notes fade around 30 minutes, wild berries and raspberry bloom emerge at the heart, with jasmine supporting the rose petals that add a traditional floral inflection. The drydown deepens through sugar and musk, with vanilla flower providing soft creaminess before amber and moss settle into an earthy, slightly bitter finish that grounds the composition and extends longevity on skin.
Cultural impact
Eden Juicy Apple | 01 arrived in 2021, a release that found its place among a growing appreciation for bold, sweet fragrances. Kayali had spent several years building credibility with consumers who wanted fruity-gourmand scents that projected with confidence and lasted throughout the day. The fragrance landed in a market where fruity-gourmand compositions were gaining recognition for their artistry and appeal. This launch came at a time when fragrance lovers were increasingly drawn to scents that combined sweetness with depth, seeking out perfumes that felt both indulgent and wearable.
