The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name says it all: S'il Vous Plait. A request. A moment of elegance. The fragrance translates that impulse into scent, bright, fruited, then warm. Nathalie Feisthauer built it in 2024 for the Parisian Collection. The blues inspiration from the brand copy mentions a swing into the dirtiness of the blues with an unexpected maple syrup twist, that energy lives here in the contrast between the crisp opening and the cozy, close drydown. The top notes burst with bright citrus and juicy fruit, creating an immediate sense of freshness that gives way to a deeper, more intimate warmth as the fragrance settles into the skin. Spices begin to emerge, weaving through the sweetness, while the drydown wraps the wearer in a soft, enveloping embrace of vanilla and subtle woodiness.
The blueberry-to-vanilla transition is where most fruity fragrances lose the plot. They go linear, then flat, then sweet. Feisthauer's solution is to layer the base with thirteen ingredients that don't replace the fruit, they complicate it. Clove introduces a savory warmth. Cashmere wood and sandalwood keep the sweetness grounded. Patchouli and cedar pull earthy instead of letting the composition tip into confection. The result is a fragrance that smells like something happened to it, not just something that was assembled.
The evolution
The opening hits fast. Bergamot and coriander spark together, that citrus-aromatic burst that says the composition is here. Blackcurrant leaf adds a green, slightly tart undertone you might miss if you're not paying attention. Within 30 minutes, the top notes begin their exit and blueberry takes the stage. Jammy, present, undeniably fruit. Clove and lily of the valley arrive to temper the sweetness with warmth and a whisper of floral green. This is the heart, the part that earns the name. It lasts a few hours on most skin. Then the drydown begins. Amber and vanilla arrive first, followed by cashmere wood and sandalwood. The composition softens, becomes intimate, wraps close. Patchouli and cedar keep it from going full gourmand. Muscenone, ambroxan, and ambrette add a clean musk dimension that lingers for hours. By the end, it's skin-warm and quiet. The kind of wear that someone notices when they're standing next to you.
Cultural impact
Niche compositions with this level of base-layer ambition tend to find their audience slowly, then deeply. The drydown offers a sweet yet sophisticated finish that feels distinct from typical fruity fragrances. The opening provides an immediate burst of bright fruit and citrus, which gradually evolves as spice notes emerge and the fragrance settles. The transition from crisp top notes to a warm, intimate base creates a sensory arc that rewards patience, with the woody and subtly sweet drydown lingering close to the skin for hours.
