The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
D'Or Tresor arrives in 2026 as part of Ibraheem AlQurashi's Twilight Secret Collection, composed by Jordi Fernández. The brief seems clear enough on its surface: build something luminous, something that catches light without depending on weight. Fernández delivered a composition that pulls away from density, trading the heavier architecture the house is often associated with for a softer silhouette. The voice is lower, the structure more intimate, the gesture closer to the skin. There's still a recognizable AlQurashi sensibility in how the base materials behave, how the wood and resin notes settle and warm against the body. But the opening registers at a different altitude, less projection and more proximity.
What's interesting here is how the structure reorganizes itself around familiar materials. The rose and orange blossom move into positions of prominence, their sweetness and creamy warmth given room to develop rather than compressed beneath heavier anchors. Pear and tangerine handle the opening brightness, offering a clean, almost weightless lift that keeps the initial impression fresh and airy. The floral heart stays translucent, with lily of the valley lending its green-soapy clarity while the orange blossom rounds out the texture with something that feels sun-warmed rather than heavy.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes are deceptively simple. Bergamot, pear, and tangerine arrive together, bright and almost edible, the pear giving it a green-juicy sweetness that keeps the citrus from going sharp. There's no boozy fruit, no candied edge. Just clean, fresh, and a touch weightless, the kind of opening that feels like sunlight through a sheer curtain. Somewhere around the forty-minute mark, the florals surface. Lily of the valley brings a green-soapy clarity, orange blossom adds a creamy sunlit warmth, and the rose threads through without ever turning powdery. The composition feels airy here, almost sheer, like reading a book in afternoon light. The drydown is where it settles into itself.
Cultural impact
As part of the Twilight Secret Collection, D'Or Tresor offers a distinctive counterpoint within the brand's broader range, demonstrating the kind of range that comes from a house confident enough to explore different registers. The composition doesn't sacrifice the craftsmanship and material quality that define the brand's identity, but it applies those qualities to a quieter, more intimate scale. The floral-fruity approach feels intentional rather than concessive, a choice that prioritizes wearability and personal connection over the heavier statements the brand is also capable of making.
