The apple in the heart bridges the two halves, adding just enough sweetness to keep the wood from feeling austere. As the hours pass, the warmth from the base settles into the ginger's initial brightness, creating a blended mid-stage where neither half dominates.

The evolution

The first ten minutes belong to ginger and grapefruit, loud enough to cut through a cold room. There's a prickly, almost sparkling quality here, like citrus meeting spice rather than citrus meeting citrus. By the thirty-minute mark, the cardamom has settled in and the apple appears, softening the edges and introducing a subtle sweetness that feels more skin than fruit. The rose and geranium surface quietly around the one-hour point, never floral-forward, more like a suggestion of warmth than a statement. From there, the drydown takes over: cashmere wood and cedar wrap everything in something dry and tactile, while vetiver adds a faint earthiness underneath. The sillage contracts around the two-hour mark, moving from noticeable to close. By hour five, it's a skin scent, warm, woody, faintly creamy.
