The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Cabotine Green Summer arrived in 2010. The citrus-green-floral structure wasn't decoration, it was the brief itself. Four top notes, three heart notes, three base notes. The 50ml EDT format is available. Yuzu and green moss are paired together, tart, almost medicinal acidity meeting cool, dark earthiness. The composition has a clear structural intention, with each layer contributing to the overall effect. This fragrance stands apart from simpler flankers.
The yuzu-citrus pairing has a tart, clean quality with a slight bitterness. The green moss note is softer and darker than traditional oakmoss. It doesn't compete with the florals. It provides an underlayer that supports the jasmine and freesia. The composition keeps everything in balance. Each phase arrives, does its work, and transitions. The pear in the top is present, softening the yuzu's edge.
The evolution
The opening features blood orange, mandarin, and yuzu. The citrus notes are bright and present. The pear slips in quietly alongside the yuzu. As time passes, the florals begin to emerge. Freesia appears first, followed by jasmine. The jasmine takes longer to develop, bringing its sweetness forward as the citrus begins to recede. The green moss note becomes more apparent as the heart develops, giving the middle a cool quality. The moss and jasmine hold the stage as the citrus fades. The base arrives with musk and cedar creating warmth close to skin. The drydown is intimate and quiet.
Cultural impact
Cabotine Green Summer is a bright, wearable summer fragrance that rewards attention. It doesn't try to fill a room or start a conversation. The citrus-green-floral structure offers something fresh. The architectural approach treats citrus and green as structural elements rather than decoration. This sets it apart from simpler additions to existing fragrance lines.
