That initial phase, brief as it is, sets up everything that follows. The heart doesn't arrive with fanfare. It settles. The amber and benzoin build slowly, the cashmeran adding a velvety texture that reads as warmth without weight, while the iris brings a quiet powder that prevents the whole thing from going too sweet. The blond tobacco isn't a statement note here. It whispers. And that restraint is what makes the drydown feel earned rather than inevitable.

The evolution

The opening arrives with labdanum resin and a brief medicinal coolness, quickly softened by cinnamon warmth and a delicate white rose. Pink pepper adds lift without sharpness. The transition to heart happens gradually over the first thirty minutes as the amber and benzoin begin to dominate, the iris powder arriving quietly underneath. The cashmeran gives the whole heart phase a velvety texture that feels almost tactile. By the second hour, the tobacco has settled into the composition and the vanilla base begins its slow emergence. The drydown is a slow burn. Tonka bean and vanilla build together, the Peru balsam adding a sticky, sweet resinous quality, the musk keeping everything intimate and close to the skin.
