The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Eudora built Obsessão por Baunilha around a single idea: what if vanilla stopped being a supporting note and became the whole point? Released in 2018, the fragrance leans into Brazil's relationship with the ingredient, vanilla grown under the tropical sun, picked at peak ripeness, processed in the country's agricultural heartland. The brand's formulation team, drawing on Grupo Boticário's decades of fragrance expertise, wanted to create something that felt familiar without being ordinary. Vanilla as obsession, not afterthought. Chocolate and orchid were added to deepen the composition, the chocolate brings warmth, the orchid keeps it wearable rather than cloying.
What makes this structure interesting is the orchid. It doesn't arrive as a typical floral note, rose or jasmine would compete with the vanilla and lose. Instead, orchid functions as a textural bridge, adding a powdery softness that keeps the chocolate warmth from becoming too heavy. Musk anchors everything at the base, giving the drydown a skin-like quality that makes the fragrance feel intimate rather than projected. The result is a scent that rewards wearing, not just smelling.
The evolution
The first minutes hit immediately with vanilla and chocolate, no slow build here, just a warm, creamy wave. Within thirty minutes, the orchid arrives, softening the sweetness into something powdery and approachable. That powdery phase carries for two to three hours, the floral note keeping the gourmand elements from overwhelming. Then the drydown: vanilla and musk settling into the skin like the warmth left behind after someone steps out of a room. Lasts a full workday on most skin types, with moderate sillage that stays close rather than announcing itself.
Cultural impact
Eudora's catalog runs from fruit-forward to gourmand, positioning itself as an accessible alternative to more formal fragrance houses. Obsessão por Baunilha fits squarely in the warm, sweet category, resonating with wearers who want vanilla-forward scents without the luxury price point. Community reviews show strong loyalty, multiple wearers describe it as their signature scent, with comparisons to Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace and Bare Vanilla. The fragrance strikes a balance between youthful accessibility and enough complexity to keep it interesting beyond the first spray.
