The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Donna Karan launched Be Tempted Eau So Blush in 2016 as a softer companion to the original Be Tempted, which had anchored itself around a juicy red apple. Where that debut leaned bold and tempting, this flanker aimed for something more floral and quietly confident. The brand positioned it as a modern, bolder evolution compared to the refreshing DKNY Be Delicious debut back in 2004, a deliberate pivot from crisp fruit into warmer, more grown-up territory. Model Abbey Lee Kershaw fronted the campaign, and the bottle took the familiar DKNY oval in soft pink with a metallic cap, available in 50 ml and 100 ml formats.
What makes this composition worth a second look is how it bridges two DKNY moods. The original Be Tempted was all about a single fruit note done loud. Be Tempted Eau So Blush swaps that singular punch for a layered floral-fruity structure where red currant and pink grapefruit share the spotlight with magnolia, then cedar and jasmine anchor a peony-led heart, and apricot plus musk soften the woody base. It's the same brand vocabulary, but rearranged for someone who wants warmth without losing the energy.
The evolution
The first spray hits with grapefruit and blood orange, sharp enough to wake you up but rounded immediately by red currant's softer tartness. Magnolia slips in early, not as a top note announcement but as a whisper underneath the citrus, the kind of creaminess that makes the opening feel less like a fruit basket and more like a perfume. Ten to fifteen minutes in, the pink grapefruit retreats and the florals take over properly. Peony arrives powdery and cool, jasmine warmer beside it, and cedarwood threads through both, giving the heart a structure most sheer florals lack. It's not a dense floral by any means, but it has backbone. By the two-hour mark the musk starts pulling the composition downward. Apricot shows up sweet but not sticky, more like the inside of the fruit than the syrup, and the woody notes settle in close. The drydown is the warmest phase, creamy musk over soft wood, but it never gets heavy. On skin it lasts about four to six hours, fading gently rather than disappearing.
Cultural impact
Be Tempted Eau So Blush sits within the DKNY Be Delicious family that debuted in 2004, a franchise that helped define the accessible fruity-floral category for a younger American audience. The 2016 flanker was a deliberate softening of the bolder Be Tempted original, aimed at wearers who wanted the brand's playful energy in a warmer, more grown-up register. Abbey Lee Kershaw's campaign kept it firmly in the fashion-fragrance mainstream, where it reads as an everyday choice rather than a statement.
