The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Chris Adams launched Blumine Pour Femme in 2022. The perfumer behind it shares the brand's name, so creative direction sits close to home. Blumine sits within the Platinum Collection, the line that houses the brand's more expressive feminine compositions. The bottle carries the motif: a gold blumine flower crowns an unusually shaped blue flacon, the visual signature for a scent built around contrast. Bright fruit against warm, grounded woods. Soft florals against something with weight. The concept reads clearly even before the first spray. Bergamot and blackcurrant open with a juicy snap, sharpened by a twist of citrus that pulls you in fast. There's a peach and raspberry sweetness that rounds the edges, softening the sharper fruit into something rounder, more inviting.
What's interesting here is the structural choice: a true gourmand base (toffee, amber, white musk) carrying a top that reads almost like a cocktail pour, bergamot and blackcurrant with peach and raspberry brightening the edges. The patchouli in the heart keeps it anchored, earthy enough to stop the sweetness from drifting. Sandalwood underneath gives the whole thing a skin-like warmth that lasts. It's a composition that knows what it wants to be from the first accord to the last.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are sharp and sparkling. Bergamot and lemon cut through, blackcurrant adds that dark berry edge, and peach rounds it out so nothing bites too hard. Raspberry sits underneath, giving the opening a glossy sweetness without tipping it into candy. Around the thirty-minute mark, the fruit recedes and the heart takes over. Patchouli arrives first, quiet and earthy, then rose opens up, powdery and full. Violet adds a cool, almost lipstick-like quality that keeps the florals from going too soft. The transition is gradual, nothing dramatic, just a change in temperature. By hour two, the base is fully in charge. Toffee is the surprise, warm and edible, sitting next to sandalwood's creamy depth. Amber gives it a resinous glow, white musk keeps everything close to skin. The final hours belong to the sandalwood and musk, with just enough toffee lingering to make the drydown feel like a memory of the opening rather than a complete departure. On a sweater or scarf the next morning, the scent is mostly gone but the warmth remains.
Cultural impact
Blumine Pour Femme arrived in 2022 as part of Chris Adams' Platinum Collection. The composition, with its toffee-and-sandalwood base layered against a fruity opening, brings a distinctive structural choice to the gourmand-floral conversation. Rather than letting the sweetness lead, the formula leans on patchouli in the heart to keep things grounded, and rose threads through the middle to add a softness that prevents the base from feeling heavy. The toffee reads more like warm caramelised sugar than confectionery, and the white musk underneath gives the whole thing a clean, skin-like hum that lingers.
