Vamos Crescent

The structure of Crescent plays out in clear stages. The top opens with cold citrus and marine notes, sharp and saline, the kind of opening that reads as breezy and bright. Bay leaf in the heart adds an herbal bitterness that keeps the jasmine from tipping into sweetness, while the jasmine itself hovers clean and white, never heavy. The base then pulls hard in the other direction. Ambergris, guaiac wood, oakmoss, and patchouli form a dense, slightly smoky foundation that gives the composition weight. There is a real conversation happening between the bright opening and the grounded close.

The evolution

The first fifteen minutes belong to grapefruit and mandarin, sharp and almost fizzy against the marine notes, like biting into citrus with a salt rim. The aquatic accord reads cool but not synthetic, closer to open water than pool chlorine. There's an energy here that wants to move. By the thirty-minute mark, the citrus softens and bay leaf steps forward, green and slightly medicinal, the way fresh herbs smell before they're cooked. Jasmine hovers underneath, present but restrained, giving the heart a clean white-flower lift without ever turning soapy or heavy. This is the phase that feels most like a transition, the morning brightness fading into something with more texture. The drydown is where Crescent earns its keep. Guaiac wood and patchouli build a smoky, resinous floor, and the ambergris adds a mineral warmth, skin-like, almost salty.
