The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name carries intention. 'Vamos', let's go, come on, move. A Spanish word that belongs to every language that needs a push. Camara Perfumes built Vamos Atelier around that energy: a fragrance that starts bright, moves through warmth, and lands somewhere comfortable. The composition opens with a citrusy punch from lemon that cuts through the air immediately. Pink pepper adds a subtle spice that keeps the introduction from feeling flat. As the top notes recede, lavender emerges as the dominant voice, herbal and clean, grounded without being austere. Frankincense weaves through the heart, lending a smoky, resinous quality that gives the green note unexpected depth. The overall effect is aromatic and masculine, approachable without being ordinary.
What makes this work is the frankincense. In the heart, it doesn't perform, it supports. Lavender gives it structure, a clean herbal base that most scent-makers lean on too heavily. Here, the balance tips toward the smoke. Tonka bean in the base is doing something similar: sweet but restrained, giving warmth without asking for the spotlight. The result is a pyramid that feels honest. Each layer knows its role. No note is fighting for attention.
The evolution
The lemon and pink pepper open bright, but they don't linger. Within minutes, the lavender and frankincense take over, and that's the real fragrance. The incense adds a subtle smoky layer that lifts the herbal note above the ordinary. This heart lasts three to four hours on most skin. Then the amber arrives, slow and warm, wrapping everything in a glow that carries for another two to three hours. The drydown is where vanilla and tonka bean win out, sweet and close to the skin. As the fragrance settles into its final phase, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, creamy rather than sharp, wrapping the earlier smoky and herbal elements in a soft embrace. The sillage softens considerably at this point, becoming a personal scent bubble that rewards anyone who leans in close.
Cultural impact
Vamos Atelier arrived as part of Camara's broader collection. The house focuses on scent compositions that communicate clearly without excess ornamentation. The frankincense and lavender combination gives this fragrance a character that stands apart from more straightforward aromatic options. There's an intentional tension in the blend: the clean, herbal quality of lavender meets the smoky, resinous depth of frankincense, creating something that feels both grounded and distinctive. The composition reads as contemporary masculine without leaning into either extreme traditional or aggressively modern territory.
