The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Camara Perfumes has operated from Dubai since 2016, describing their work as perfume art rather than mass-market production. Sweet Candy fits that philosophy, a 2025 confection built for people who want their fragrance to feel like a mood, not a muted accessory. The name says everything. This is a scent that announces itself. Cotton candy, mint, and vanilla arranged into something that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. No pretense. Just the joyful logic of a sweet shop at dusk.
The structure is what makes it interesting. Cotton candy and vanilla could easily slide into pure sugar, that's the risk with gourmand compositions. Camara's answer is mint. It sits in the top and heart, cool and almost medicinal, cutting through the sweetness like a bartender's hand cutting a cocktail. The tension between cool and sweet is where this fragrance lives. That's the craft in it.
The evolution
The opening lasts about fifteen minutes, lime and mint doing the work, bright and tart. Then the cotton candy arrives, and the mint steps back. It doesn't disappear. It softens, becoming a cool thread through the sweetness. The heart shifts into mint and vanilla together, their cool-fresh quality building as the cotton candy fades. By the drydown, vanilla and tonka bean have taken over. Creamy. Warm. The mint is still there, but barely, a memory of the opening that keeps the base from becoming a pure sugar bomb. Expect 4-6 hours on most skin. The drydown stays close.
Cultural impact
Sweet Candy landed in 2025 as part of the synthetic-gourmand wave, fragrances built from confectionery accords that feel more precise than their natural counterparts. What sets it apart is the mint. It keeps the sweetness from becoming a wall of sugar, adding a cool, almost energetic quality that reads as fresh rather than heavy. The response has been divided. Some find it joyful and wearable, a crowd-pleaser with personality. Others feel it skews young, or that the synthetic cotton candy note is too literal. Both views are valid. This is a fragrance that commits to a mood.
