The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Adam Bujairami founded Bujairami Perfumes as an Australian fragrance house. Power is his 2025 statement: a sweet, assertive interpretation inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir. The fragrance opens with an immediate burst of cool mint that arrests attention before softening into an aromatic heart of lavender and artemisia. As it settles, the sweetness amplifies, revealing a warm tobacco base that gives the scent its grounding presence. The projection is notable from the first spray, projecting confidence that lasts well into the drydown where resinous undertones emerge. Power is a fragrance designed to be noticed, commanding space without shouting.
The tension is the point. Mint and lavender open cool, almost clinical in their clarity. Artemisia adds a bitter herbal edge that elevates the freshness beyond the usual citrus-mint territory. But sweetness doesn't wait. It threads through almost immediately, softening the herbaceous sharpness before it can feel austere. That's the move: mint-lavender as a controlled burn, not a decoration. The honey note doesn't arrive late, it was always there, waiting underneath the cool exterior. Vanilla and benzoin carry the heart, their resinous warmth pulling the composition toward amber rather than green.
The evolution
The opening hits sharp. Mint and lavender arrive clean and bright, with artemisia lending a slightly bitter, sage-like edge that keeps the freshness from feeling generic. Within minutes, vanilla threads through, sweetening the deal. The mint never fully disappears, it retreats, then resurfaces later like a signature you didn't know you'd left behind. The heart deepens. Vanilla and benzoin take over, their resinous sweetness wrapping around the herbal notes and pulling the composition into amber warmth. The mint fades. Tobacco and honey settle in, anchoring the sweetness before it can float away. This is where Power earns its name, not through brute force, but through the confidence of a composition that knows exactly what it is. The drydown is where it lives. Hours later, tobacco and tonka bean settle close to the skin, their warm, slightly smoky richness creating an intimate presence. Musk holds everything together. The honey sweetness returns, a quiet reminder of what opened this. Power doesn't announce itself at the end. It lingers.
Cultural impact
Released in 2025 by Australian house Bujairami, Power brings a confident perspective to contemporary fragrance design. Its sweet-tobacco structure combines with a mint-lavender artemisia opening to create a scent that moves between cool freshness and warm depth. The fragrance opens with crisp mint that clears the air, transitioning quickly to reveal aromatic lavender and the herbal complexity of artemisia. As it develops on the skin, the sweet tobacco emerges more fully, creating a rich, warm foundation that anchors the experience.
