The beginning
Code Elixir arrived in 2025 as a new chapter in the Armani Code story, following a line that has held its place in the designer fragrance conversation for years. The brief was simple and ambitious: push the Code DNA further into richer, more intense territory without losing the sleek, composed signature that made the original a mainstay. Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu took the assignment and built around one idea: leather as the structural center, treated and smoked rather than soft, given room to speak alongside supporting materials. The result is a fragrance that doesn't reinvent the Code wheel. It thickens it. The original Code whispers near the collar. Elixir speaks from across the room, still Armani, still composed, but unmistakably the elder of the family in weight and presence.
What makes this composition interesting is its restraint within intensity. Four core notes anchor the structure, and they share a common gravitas: the Calabrian green mandarin offers a bright, almost bitter entry that cuts through the richness; the smoked leather and liqueur heart is where the weight lives, a pairing that reads less like a boozy fragrance and more like the memory of one; and the roasted tonka bean closes the loop with a warm, almost edible glow. The evolution
