Allegretto translates to a fairly brisk tempo, and Antonio Gardoni built this 2020 composition like a musical phrase with momentum. The numeric code, 7.2, sits quietly in the title, a small cipher that asks you to consider the fragrance less as a static object and more as a movement with its own internal architecture. The opening reads exactly as the name promises: brisk, clean, and quick on its feet. Green notes cut through with a clarity that feels almost architectural, the kind of sharp-edged freshness you might associate with a sharply played opening passage. And then something quieter takes hold. The woody elements settle into the base, and the composition exhales, losing its initial sharpness in favor of something denser and earthier.
Allegretto 7.2 builds the entire composition around vetiver's ability to shift registers.
