The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Rich Peach arrived in 2023 as the first dedicated women's release from Antonio Maretti. Perfumer Cristian Calabrò built it around a single idea: a peach that didn't whisper. The name alone says something. 'Rich' isn't a descriptor here, it's a declaration. The house had spent two years exploring confidence throughunisex compositions. This was the moment to apply that same logic to a feminine fragrance. Not delicate. Not floral-by-numbers. A peach that arrives golden and unapologetic, with the structure to back up its name.
What makes Rich Peach distinctive is the powdery white floral heart, freesia, peony, orange blossom, that arrives after the opening and shifts the composition into something more complex than a standard fruity-floral. That creaminess in the heart is the surprise. Then the base does what bases do: it holds. Patchouli, vanilla, and musk create a warm foundation that extends the fragrance well beyond the initial peach impression. The peach never fully disappears. It lingers at the edges, merged with vanilla into something almost edible. Almost.
The evolution
The opening is bright and juicy, bergamot cutting through ripe peach, a citrus-fruit tension that reads as contradictory at first. The bergamot doesn't let the peach get soft. Then the florals arrive. Freesia and peony bring a powdery creaminess that smooths the edges. Orange blossom adds a clean floral warmth. The hand-off between opening and heart is where most fragrances stumble. Rich Peach doesn't. The transition feels natural, like the brightness was always going to settle into something warmer. The drydown is where it earns its name. Musk and vanilla create a skin-close warmth that isn't projection, it's presence. Patchouli keeps the sweetness from taking over, grounding the vanilla with an earthy undertone that reads as sophisticated rather than dessert-sweet. The peach, now ghosted, merges with the vanilla for an edible quality that stays close for six to eight hours.
Cultural impact
Rich Peach represents Antonio Maretti's entry into the gender-fluid fragrance market, launching in 2023 as part of the Prestige collection. This release marked the house's first dedicated women's line, signaling a strategic expansion of their portfolio while maintaining the brand's signature bold narrative approach. The fragrance taps into the growing demand for nuanced fruity-floral compositions that balance warmth with contemporary sophistication, positioning itself within a competitive landscape of peach-centric releases from larger houses.
