Why it exists.
The beginning
Marine Mercé composed Femme Naturelle for Angel Schlesser in 2024, opening a new chapter in the house's fragrance line. The composition keeps things lean: lemon and pink pepper for the opening spark, white flowers for the bloom, and vanilla for the finish that lingers close to skin. There is a confidence in the restraint, the kind of editing that trusts every listed note to do real work rather than filling space with decoration. The lemon lands clean and immediate, bright enough to cut through the first impression, while the pink pepper adds a faint warmth just behind it, like the moment before a room warms up. From there the floral phase settles in, soft and rounded, before the vanilla takes over and pulls the whole composition inward.
The composition is small on paper: two top notes, a single heart category, one base. That restraint is the point. White flowers can easily read synthetic or loud when surrounded by too many supporting players. Here the vanilla softens them without smothering, and the lemon keeps everything honest.
