The brief was simple: translate the atmosphere of that city into a bottle. Not the postcard version. The note combination is unusual in how balanced it stays. Honey and tonka bean give warmth and sweetness, but tobacco and iris pull the composition in a different direction, dry, slightly powdery, grounded. That tension is what makes the fragrance work. It's sweet without being cloying, warm without being heavy. The iris adds a coolness that makes the honey read as elegant rather than edible. This isn't dessert. The evolution

The drydown is sandalwood and ambergris, creamy and marine, and this is where the fragrance lives longest, with the sandalwood holding on well after everything else has faded.
