The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Giulietta was created by Antoni Cabal and launched in 2019 as a fragrance for women and men. Its composition balances floral brightness with warm woods, amber, spice, and earth, creating a scent that feels elegant without becoming simply sweet. Italian Bergamot and Indian Jasmine establish the opening, lending freshness and a clean white-floral lift. Woody Notes and Amber shape the heart, adding depth and warmth, while Madagascar Vanilla and Patchouli bring the ending down into darker, richer territory. Together, these notes make Giulietta a composed fragrance with a clear structure and a subtle tension between brightness and warmth. It’s a scent built around contrast, where citrus, jasmine, wood, spice, vanilla, and patchouli interact in a polished way.
The note structure does something quietly expressive: Bergamot brings a clean, polished opening, Indian Jasmine supplies the floral center, and Amber adds a glowing warmth without losing the composition’s literary restraint. Woody Notes give that glow a body, while Madagascar Vanilla rounds the edges. Patchouli is the useful complication, grounding the sweetness with a darker, earthy register. The result is less like a powdered floral than a romance with a little weather in it, where citrus light, jasmine radiance, and patchouli shadow all occupy the same sentence.
The evolution
Giulietta begins with the clean snap of Italian Bergamot, bright and almost weightless, before Indian Jasmine brings in a white floral lift. The opening gradually gives way to Woody Notes and Amber, where the composition becomes warmer, fuller, and more intimate. As the heart settles, the floral brightness is less pristine and more blended into the amber glow. Woody Notes give the composition a structured, gently textured center, while Amber adds a soft warmth that keeps the jasmine from remaining too stark. Then the base takes over: Madagascar Vanilla gives the drydown a creamy sweetness, while Patchouli keeps it grounded, earthy, and slightly mysterious. Over time, the citrus opening softens as the floral heart becomes more integrated with the woods and amber. The vanilla develops into a rounder sweetness, balanced by patchouli’s darker earthy character.
Cultural impact
Giulietta is a unisex floral-woody-amber fragrance that connects a bright opening with a warm, earthy base. Italian Bergamot and Indian Jasmine bring freshness and floral clarity, while Woody Notes and Amber create a richer center. Madagascar Vanilla and Patchouli complete the composition with creamy sweetness and darker depth. Its appeal lies in this balance: a scent that can feel luminous and composed at once, pairing the clarity of the opening with the warmth and texture that emerge as it settles.
The House
Toni CabalToni Cabal translates three decades of laboratory work and scent exploration into a compact line of niche perfumes that feel both personal and precise. Based in Barcelona, the brand offers a curated selection that ranges from the bright citrus of Lemon Pie (2025) to the smoky depth of Chocolate Oud (2017). Each bottle carries the signature of a master perfumer who balances scientific rigor with artistic intuition, inviting collectors to experience fragrance as a quiet conversation with memory.
The Creator
Antoni CabalAntoni favors a structured approach that begins with a strong anchor ingredient, often a rare wood or a refined spice. He layers transparent heart notes such as jasmine or violet to add depth, then finishes with a subtle veil of musk or ambergris.
