Heritage
A house, in its own words
Toni Cabal began his career in the early 1990s, training in the chemistry labs of major European fragrance houses. Over more than thirty years he contributed to dozens of commercial projects, sharpening a reputation for technical mastery and a willingness to experiment with unconventional accords. In 2014 he founded Fragrance Science, a consultancy that bridges analytical research and creative development. The same year he launched the Toni Cabal label, positioning it as a laboratory‑driven alternative to traditional perfume houses. The debut collection featured White Cream, a soft, milky composition that highlighted his interest in texture and balance. By 2017 the brand released Chocolate Oud, a blend that paired dark cacao with resinous oud, earning attention in niche‑fragrance forums for its daring contrast. 2020 proved prolific: Santorini captured Mediterranean breezes, Ischia evoked volcanic islands, and White Cream returned with a refined edition, each reinforcing the brand’s Mediterranean roots. In 2022 Ambery Leather Diamond and Hyde Park arrived, expanding the palette to include leathery amber and urban green notes. The most recent addition, Lemon Pie (2025), showcases a playful citrus gourmand that reflects Cabal’s continued curiosity. Throughout its evolution the label has remained a small‑batch operation, producing limited releases from a Barcelona studio that doubles as a laboratory. The brand’s milestones are documented in independent fragrance blogs and trade publications, confirming a steady growth driven by creative consistency rather than flash marketing. The house views perfume as a dialogue between chemistry and emotion. Toni Cabal emphasizes transparency in ingredient selection, preferring natural extracts when they meet his purity standards while still embracing synthetics that solve compositional challenges. He describes his creative process as a series of hypotheses tested in the lab, each scent emerging from a clear intention rather than a vague trend. Sustainability informs the brand’s choices; sourcing partners in Spain and Italy provide responsibly harvested botanicals, and the company tracks waste to minimize its environmental footprint. The label also values accessibility for the curious collector, offering clear scent descriptions and encouraging users to explore how a fragrance evolves on skin over time. This pragmatic yet poetic stance positions the brand as a bridge between scientific rigor and the personal storytelling that fragrance enables.
