The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
White Galaxy launched in 2025, a composition by perfumer Mahsam Raza. The brief reads clean: a citrus aromatic with enough structure to register, enough green herbal lift to feel modern, and a patchouli-musk base that anchors the whole thing instead of letting it float away like so many bright top-note fragrances do. It belongs to The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, the collection that houses the house's expressive side alongside the Dua Designer Line, the kind of catalog organization that keeps the brand's creative output legible at scale. Raza constructed the accord with intention, building from the green-citrus flash into a denser herbal heart and then letting the patchouli and musk do the structural work underneath.
The structural move worth noting here is the myrtle-cardamom pairing in the heart. Myrtle brings a clean, slightly bitter herbal quality that citrus fragrances often miss, a greenness that reads more like cracked leaves than crushed fruit. Cardamom layers warmth and a faint peppery hum underneath that green. Together they bridge the gap between the bright top and the earthy base, and most citrus aromatics stumble at exactly that transition. White Galaxy doesn't. The patchouli and musk in the base do the rest, giving the composition a grounded, second-skin quality that makes the citrus feel like a choice rather than a default.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes belong to the citrus, citron and bergamot cutting clean while green mandarin and lime add that sweet-tart snap. It's bright, almost sharp, the kind of opening that makes you check your wrist twice. Around the 30-minute mark, the myrtle slides in alongside cardamom. The sharpness softens. The green deepens from fresh-squeezed to something more herbal, more grown. By the two-hour mark, the citrus has mostly exited stage left, and what remains is the base doing its quiet work. Patchouli here is present but not loud, more of a dry earthy presence than a heavy or muddled interpretation of the note. Musk wraps underneath, giving skin that clean-laundry warmth without smelling like detergent. The transition from opening to heart feels organic rather than abrupt, and the herbal-cardamom phase bridges the bright top into the grounded base with surprising ease.
Cultural impact
White Galaxy sits squarely in The Dua Brand's expressive lane, a clean-citrus aromatic composition priced to reach beyond boutique-only fragrance consumption. It's the kind of scent that enters a broader conversation about who gets access to well-built perfumery, not cheap, but transparent about offering a structured alternative to designer-tier pricing. The composition delivers a green-citrus opening with genuine herbal depth before settling into a patchouli-musk base that grounds the whole wear.
