The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Dua Addiction is the 2026 release from The Dua Brand, composed by Mahsam Raza, the nose behind this fragrance. It sits inside the Original Blend Collection, a line of compositions the house is known for. The structure is a floral-woody amber, and the choices inside it feel deliberate rather than accidental. At the center sits a dense white-floral heart, the kind of weight that lingers in a room after the wearer has walked through it. Around that heart, the base wraps things in a creamier, more grounded register than the typical sheer-floral template, giving the whole composition a settled warmth that grounds the bouquet.
What makes Dua Addiction structurally interesting is the choice to let the Indian florals dominate without anything green or aquatic to cut them. Indian jasmine sambac and Indian tuberose share a creamy, almost coconut-edge sweetness that sits at the core of the composition, and the fragrance lets that sweetness stand on its own terms without editorial interference. The bergamot and mandarin at the top are present but restrained, opening a door rather than announcing the arrival.
The evolution
The first minutes are the boldest part of Dua Addiction. Pink pepper, bergamot and mandarin lift the composition off the skin, giving a brief impression of a fresher, more classical floral before the deeper layers surface. As the citruses recede, the white florals arrive in full, but they're already sweetened, which makes the transition feel like watching cream dissolve into coffee rather than a clean handoff. Indian tuberose carries the most weight in the heart phase, with the jasmine sambac sitting slightly behind it and the orange blossom adding a soft, soapy glow on top. That trio creates a thick, almost narcotic blanket of white floral that feels dense and warm against the skin, and the creaminess builds steadily as the minutes pass.
Cultural impact
Dua Addiction reads as a response to the appetite for dense, creamy white florals that have found a wide audience in recent years. The composition leans fully into that territory, and the note list makes its intentions plain from the start. Bergamot and mandarin orange open the door, Peruvian pink pepper adds a subtle warmth and lift to the citrus, and the white-floral heart of jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom does the heavy lifting at the center.
