The beginning
Fucsia arrived in 2024 as the latest voice in Shakira's SHK Collection, a fragrance line developed through Puig. The name itself evokes fuchsia, that vivid pink the color is famous for, and the brand frames it as a tribute to the independent, free-spirited woman who fills a room by simply being in it. Fucsia sits on the brighter, more effervescent side of the lineup, the kind of release that pulls toward celebration and movement. The composition opens with a burst of fruit that reads cool and refreshing rather than heavy: pear sorbet and mandarin deliver that first impression, juicy and lifted, the kind of sweetness that feels airy on the skin rather than syrupy.
What makes Fucsia worth attention is how the gourmand and floral sides negotiate. Raspberry macaron in the base sits alongside a white floral heart of jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang, and that pairing could easily slide into cloying territory. The pear sorbet and mandarin in the opening pull the temperature back down, giving the composition a frosty sweetness before the florals ever arrive.
The evolution
